Readr Response #6: Find a Poet

The poet I chose was Edgar Allen Poe, the thing that I liked about his poems were that they're unique and interesting to read. The poems that I read by him were "A dream, Romance, The Lake, Alone, The Happiest Day, and The Raven". All of them were totally different poems but they all were deep. I also like Poe because he write alot of scary poems and they're fun to read. I also like that in his poems he writes them the way that he talks, like how Twain did in Huck Finn. What i don't like much about his poems are that sometimes they are hard to understand, and you'll have to read it over and over to get what he's trying to say exactly, his poems are sort of like shakesphere but a little more understandable. I also dislike that some of his poems are very long.

From the poems that I have read that are by Edgar that connect to my life is "Alone". This poem connects to my life because in it he just mainly talks about how when he was child, and how he was different from all the other kids. He explained how he'd whether be alone by him self, then around other kids. He explained

1)The song is basically saying I'll be alright as long as I have my bestfriends by my side. That my friends are my comforters. That I'll stay out of trouble if I have my friends there for me, or we can get in trouble together.

2)Yes, I like this song. I like it because it has a good meaning in a way, and I like the sound of it, and its the theme to one of my favorite movies.

3)This song connects with my life because thats how me and my cousin are to one another. i know that she'll always be there for me, and she knows that i will always be there for her.
