Readr Response #6: Find a Poet
From the poems that I have read that are by Edgar that connect to my life is "Alone". This poem connects to my life because in it he just mainly talks about how when he was child, and how he was different from all the other kids. He explained how he'd whether be alone by him self, then around other kids. He explained

Friendship Blog #5
And darlin', darlin', stand by me, oh now now stand by meStand by me, stand by me
If the sky that we look uponShould tumble and fallAnd the mountains should crumble to the seaI won't cry, I won't cry, no I won't shed a tearJust as long as you stand, stand by me
And darlin', darlin', stand by me, oh stand by meStand by me, stand by me, stand by me-e, yeah
Whenever you're in trouble won't you stand by me, oh now now stand by meOh stand by me, stand by me, stand by me
Darlin', darlin', stand by me-e, stand by meOh stand by me, stand by me, stand by me(Stand By Me by Ben E. King, www.weddingvendors.com)

Huck Finn Reader #3(Ch.14-Ch.18)
Huck is impressed about the Grangerford’s house because of the unique pictures she had hanging on her walls; she had bible pictures hung on her walls that were all done by Emmeline. Her house was set up in a unique way that Huck never seen a house set up like before. Huck’s view of the house was so interesting because Huck hasn’t seen much stuff in his life and this showed him that there’s more to life than just the life he’s living. “It was a mighty nice family, and a mighty nice house, too. I hadn’t seen no house in the country before that was so nice and had so much style.”(ch.17 pg.75)
The books in the house were so special because they were all poetry books. Huck is so interested in the books because they were poetry books done by Emmeline and thought that they were very good. Huck wants to learn new things so he’ll be able to become successful in something like how Emmeline is with her poetry. Twain finds education very important, he believes that with education you’ll be able to do more unique things and find way to entertain people. ”He said that she would slap down a line, and if she couldn’t find anything to rhyme with it she would just scratch it out and slap down another one”(ch.17 pg.78)
The drawings, poems, and scrapbooks are so unique because they were all done by Emmeline Grangerford herself. She seemed to be obsessed with dead people. The painting had so many arms because the woman didn’t know what position she wanted her arms in. They were going to scratch out the pairs of arms she didn’t want she picked her position. The woman died before they could choose. Emmeline is interested in death. She finds it fascinating to know about a death or suicide and she enjoys drawing the stories of the people who died and how they died. Huck is so touched by Emmeline’s life and art because she has a unique way of painting and Huck can see the story or the people through her paintings.
Huck Finn Essay Exam 1 (1-23)
A moral dilemma that happened in the story is when Huck did not tell on Jim because he was a runaway slave. This moral dilemma is relevant to the story because Jim is a slave that ran away and if caught a reward will be given to whomever finds him. Huck still does not tell anyone about Jim and Huck is supposed to be dead so he really cannot tell anyone about Jim even if he wanted. The people in town think that Jim may have killed Huck since both, Huck and Jim, are missing at the same time.
Huck has developed from this situation because he has had time to get to know Jim since they are hiding together. He realizes that Black people are not as bad as people in town say they are. Huck also looks up to Jim as a father or older brother in a way. Huck has basically saved someone’s life and has become more mature and a hero.
Huck’s keeping Jim a secret and not telling anyone about Jim was the right thing to do. Huck not exposing Jim was wise because Huck would have gotten caught as well. What Huck did also shows he is not selfish and that he actually cares about other people. It was right for Huck to keep Jim a secret because now he has someone to help him survive and it taught Huck a lesson about slaves. In the story Huck and Jim wanted to know what people were saying about both of their disappearances. Huck decides to take a chance and go into town in a disguise. He could have told on Jim while he was in disguise but by this time he and Jim’s relationship had become close, so Huck does not tell because they would have killed not a slave, but his friend. Another good thing that came from Huck not turning Jim in to be killed was that Huck’s character had grown or developed for the better.
All in all Huck’s character is what allowed him to keep Jim in hiding and it paid off for both of them. Huck made a great new friend and it developed his character in several different ways. His decision to protect Jim was the best thing he could have done. Huck is now a hero. Because Huck did this great thing for Jim surely Jim will always help Huck as a way of paying him back for saving his life.

huck finn response (7-13)
Huck is influenced by Widow Douglas because she basically was only one that took care of Huck. She would keep Huck out of trouble and taught him his right from wrong. Huck maybe didn’t like Widow that much, but he looked up to her for certain issues and in certain cases when he knew that Douglas would have good advice. Widow would show Huck how to not be ignorant and to have education, and how to have manners. "but the widow said it warn't anything but a soft name for stealing, and no decent body would do it."
Huck is influenced by Pap because Pap is his father and even though he doesnt see Pap tat much he still looks up to him in a way. Pap maybe a drunk and uneducated but Huck stiil sees him as his father, and listens to some of the thing that Pap says. Pap sometimes give advice to Huck, its not always good advice but its better than nothing to Huck. Pap is Huck's dad so Huck still finds whatever Pap has to say to be important, or somewhat useful."Pap always said, take a chicken when you get a chance, because if you don't want him yourself you can easy find somebody that does, and a good deed ain't ever forgot."
Huck was influenced by Jim because Jim is one of Huck's new closest friends. Jim sometimes treats Huck as if he is son, he looks after Huck in away. Jim protects Huck becuase he's been through alot more than Huck has and knows what's best for Huck. Jim is someone that Huck can talk to and Jim is able to give Huck advice on how he feels about what Huck tells him. Huck can trust Jim with anything, he's a good person and shows Huck how to be respectful and caring."De man ain't asleep-he's dead. You hold still-I'll go en see."-Jim quotes

Reader Response 1: Huck Finn (1 - 6)
Government
"Call this givment! why, just look at it and see what it's like. here's the law a-standing ready to take a man's son away from him-a man's own son, which he has had all the trouble and all the anxiety and all the expense of raising. Yes, just as that man has got that son raised at last, and the law up and goes for him. And they call that givment!(ch.6, p.20, par. 2) I think that what Pap is tring to say is that, the government comes and takes this man's son away after he's tried his hardest to make sure that nothing like this would ever have to happen. He did everything to raise his son the best way possible, but still the government takes him away fron his son. When the government to suppose help him keep his son.
I think that Pap has a good point i agree with on the government. An example is how the government is now, how the United States is the only country that doesn't give the people free medications that they need to survive, people are dying because they dont have the money to pay for their medications. Still the government does nothing about the prices. I think that the government doesnt care about what's best for us they just care about themselves, and want to steal our money from us.
I think that Mark Twain doesn't like the government because of the way he talked about them in the the story. Mark Twain doesnt think that the government does their job right or how the government is suppose to be like.He probably doesnt like the government because he may have had a bad experience with them in his childhood. Twain maybe wa taken away from his parents when he was younger, and that's why he had the guy in the story have his children taken away.
